Hey everyone! Happy Chinese New Year to all of you! It's the first day of the lunar year and wish you all have a great and prosperous year of Dragon!

新年快乐、恭喜发财、身体健康、步步高升、龙马精神、一本万利、吉祥如意！

For the past 19 years I have been celebrating Chinese New Year with my dear family (without fail) in my grandparent's house in Perak. While my 20th CNY is somewhat "unique" because is my very first time to celebrate it without them. To be honest, it sucks and I have been emo few days back...

For those of you who are far away from hometown, you must have known how it felt right? Especially if it's the first time. Who says God is unfair? Maybe this is one of the many sacrifices that I have to make while studying overseas. It's not about the flight ticket etc, but we actually have lecture on CNY! First time no holiday on CNY. sad story~

OK. Enough with the lament.

I wanna blog about what us Kisarazians did for our 团圆饭 (reunion dinner) last night.

What surprised me was that the dinner went so well and the chefs were only 3 guys!!

Actually we(girls) thought of helping but somehow they finished all out chores.

It has been a while......

How to make Taro Balls!

My baby and I were having plenty of free time so we decided to make bobochacha+taro balls!!!
I somehow posted the photo of TMO taro balls in Facebook and I never thought that it will be this popular among the girls!!:D
Everyone was asking for recipe so here is it!!:)
Thank God I did took some photos so that I can show you guys the real pic instead of just words and sentences...

I only manage to name you guys the ingredient I used and the rough amount of it.. Can't exactly tell you the correct proportion because I didn't use any weighing machine or measuring instrument... :D

Ingredients:

Sweet potato (yellow, green, orange)

[you can also use only one colour... But more colours will vibrant up the dish:) ]

Starch powder (potato starch or corn starch)

Steps:
1)Cut the yam into equal cube size. The smaller the better.

2)Place the cubes in a pan with water covering it and boil them for 20-30 minutes until it turned soft.

3)Smashed the yam in a mixing bowl immediately after it is cooked with around 5 tablespoons of starch powder.

4)Mix them well. If the dough is too soft, add more starch powder. If it is too dry, add 2-3 tablespoons of hot water. The dough is ready if it is non sticky to your hand.

4)Roll the dough into until the size and shape of your finger (diameter 1.5cm)

5)Cut the rolled dough into smaller equal pieces and you are all done!!:)
(don't forget to sprinkle some starch powder it so that it won't stick to each other)

6)Repeat the same step for sweet potato!!:)

7)Keep it in the refrigerator until you want to serve it. Cook it in a pot with BOILING water and stir it IMMEDIATELY to prevent them from sticking together.

You can serve it with different kind of desserts like red bean soup, 爱玉冰 or even, ice cream! As for me, I serve it with bobochacha and it was a blast!!:D
p/s: cook different colour separately so that your taro balls won't have mix colours

I went for ski trip last week with a bunch of Malaysian at Myoko, Niigata.

According to my friend, this ski site is quite popular in Japan. People from all around Japan will eventually come here for snowboard or ski. Japanese always love the snow-activities when it comes to winter.

That was my first encounter with snow and I was really surprised that it looked so clean, white, THICK and............ FLUFFY!

Just as if you are holding the flour but this one freezes you hand >.<

Oh ya.... Forgot to mention that it was also the first time I have ever seen a snowboard or ski equipment. Can't believe that I will actually stand on a piece of board that tied up my legs and slide down from a hill full of snow. CAN'T BELIEVE IT.

The reason I wasn't bringing my camera is because I was afraid that I will spoil the camera by massive falling while snowboarding. ＝.＝ And that was really a good choice! Because I fell backward and forward so many times that I can hardly stand. Talk about old granny... Now I really understand what they feel! You wanna stand so much but it's SO hard and used up so many calories!!!! Have to got lots of determination!!!

Happy New Year 2012

Time flies... In not more than 2 hours, 2011 is going to end.
2012 can't wait to show itself and I still doubt whether the end of the world is around the corner.
No matter what, I have live my life to the fullest, (by not scoring distinction for any subject and buried myself in books) and I shall not ill-treat myself even a bit =D gotta love myself more ♥

Overall, 2011 has been a good year for me. In fact, a very great one.

I have won a golden ticket and the opportunity to study in Japan that only few can obtain.
I have went to Disneyland & Universal Studio Japan. I will not forget all those fun rides =D
Traveled to Taiwan with my own saving.
Bought and received a few pieces of luxuries. (C,T,T,T ♥)
Squeezed the cow's nipple. I know this sounds weird.. But it's exclusive okay? How many of you tried this before?
Visited some world heritages in Osaka.
Have my very first pair of Converse sneaker.
Have 98 followers in Instagram. I thought I can reach 100 before 2011 ends. But seems impossible =D Anyway, I will work hard on it!
Owned an iPhone. Friends around me should have known how much I wanted one back in Malaysia.
Cheesie retweeted my tweet! About the NHK thingy. You can viewed it here.
Ran in a 3.2km marathon for 27.58 mins despite having asthma.
Experienced/Touched/Tasted/saw the real snow 2 days ago. You don't know how excited I was!
Tried snowboarding for the very first time and guess what, I can slide like a pro! =D Nah... Just joking.. haha!
Learned to catch like a pro. Ever heard of UFO catcher? hehe.. It's the machine with a lot of soft toys in it and you can only press the button twice to make the electronic arm to catch the toy you desire.

Homestayed in a Japanese family.

These are those that I can remember for the time being.. I got lots more.. But you guys can viewed it in my timeline. But the best part of these memories is that my baby YW is a part of all those. So glad that he came to my life and joined me in every bits of it. =)

♥ My Christmas 2011 ♥

A short post bout what YW and I did on Christmas =)

We went to Ginza to look around (no money to buy) all those famous branded stores. For the first time in my life I entered so many A-listed stores in a day. But sadly, I can't purchase a thing because it is too far beyond my finance capability.... But YW said I should feel proud because I was the youngest visitor in every stores I visited that day. XD

We went to visit Tokyo for the very first time after staying in Japan for almost 9 months.
It was 100 times beautiful than I thought! It looks absolutely gorgeous with lights on =)

YW and I both agree that Tokyo Tower look quite similar to Eiffel Tower. The only difference that we can spot is that Eiffel Tower has a gap in the middle section while Tokyo Tower has none. Can you spot the other difference?

And yup! Of course we had our christmas dinner =)

At a very decent restaurant called RIGOLETTO in Roppongi Hills.

The ambiance was great and romantic. Added some fine luxury touch.

The restaurant offered their Christmas course that day for 8000￥ per head.

Yes. I repeat. 8000￥ (around RM320) per head.

Come to think of it, it is really damn expensive! I still don't understand why I would actually agree to go to such place.

I've digested it and it had came out from my body this morning.

But it was a great try. Consider trying it again next year! =D

Now let me show you guys what I had yesterday.

All the names are so long, difficult and never easy to remember. What do you think?

I tried Foie gras for the very first time and I sort of like it. But I can't make myself to like the half cooked beef. It felt so plastic and hard to chew. >.< Sorry.... Not my type... So I left half of the meat untouched. =(

However, the Pasta and fish were superb!

The Pasta were so chewy and the texture were just right for me. And the cooked fish were so fresh and original. They hardly use any additive except for pepper and butter.

Lastly, the dessert! It was my favorite and I love the whole combination so much! =D

So nice and addictive! I want more dessert!!!!

Overall, I give 4/5 for this restaurant. I should have give higher marks... But because of the half cooked beef, I felt like puking. Thus minus the part.

Those who are visiting Roppongi Hills can give this place a try =)

Christmas and Holiday are just around the corner!!!

I really can't wait for it!

Presents, holiday, shopping, etc......

I've waited this season for so long and now I somehow don't want it to reach.

Ironic right?

Because once it arrives, and eventually ended, then I have to wait for the next year to come.

You get what I mean?

Do you have this kind of feeling?

It's just like how you love Sunday but you also have to accept the fact that the next day is Monday.

(sorry.... infected with meme virus... hahaha! )

As for this year, I don't do Christmas Wishlist.

Because I think I have enough of everything and I'm grateful for everything I have =)

But mostly is because none of my friends here celebrate Christmas....

Unlike in Malaysia where I have church services to attend and family members to hug and pressie exchange etc.

Christmas is coming really soon and I really can't wait for it! =)
It is the season I love most because it somehow makes me feel peaceful and sweet happiness deep within. It's a day to remind us about Christ Jesus's birthday. I don't think that this is His actual birthday but anyhow the most important part is the spirit to remind us about His birth and presence. But this year... Christmas is gonna be a little bit different because I'm not celebrating it with my family. For the very first time... (Not to mention that I have to stuck here too on 2012 CNY)

每逢佳节倍思亲 .. Now I can clearly understand the feeling of the poet when he wrote this.

To you guys who are studying in your own country : Study in your own country is not necessary a bad thing you know. (I had that thinking until I came here) I always thought that the grass are greener on the other side, the air are fresher on the other land. Of course, it's a once in a lifetime privilege and not everyone can have it. Most people must have been jealous and willing to do anything to be in my shoe right now. I have to say that I'm really lucky. Especially study in the country that I love since I was a kid. And having hometown friends to be with when I need people beside me most. (at least my birthday are celebrated and not forgotten.) And not forget to mention my love.... Who is with me through ups and downs. Without him, I can never go this far. I will break down if it wasn't because of his support and love. Of course my family too who always pray for me and listen to my grudges and always send card to me on special occasions to remind me that I'm not forgotten =D

Japan is a great country. I love traveling around Japan because there are too many things to explore. I love ALMOST everything here except study or working here. Because it's troublesome =( I don't know why I use this adjective. But that's what I personally feel. But hey... A part time job for a day can reach up to RM400! (10000yen) Isn't that awesome? Imagine the office worker's salary......................................................

It's so cold right now here in Japan. So cold that I shiver when I walk to my class =S
But it is really a nice experience. I always wanna know what does autumn or winter feel like. I never understand why they wanna wear boots or ear muff. Now I totally get it. The wind that was blew on you face is so cold that the nose and ear can feel nothing but pain! So nowadays I started wear mask and put on hoodie when I cycle.

Our college marathon is happening in 3 weeks and now we are having all this stamina jogging training. =.= I never like jogging because it makes me feel suffocated. But I have no choice. I have to run my life out or else I can face off myself. The Japanese here are so kiasu. They really strive for excellence. I think that's why I say that there are troublesome..... They will do anything and everything just to get good results in all the things they do. (maybe just for the case of my class?)

Hmm... Notice that I keep on changing topics? Actually I was thinking of writing a 2011 Christmas Wishlist Post. But end up writing all the thoughts in my mind. I guess it'll have to wait till next time!

I went to the Tokyo German Village (ドイツ村) right on the afternoon I finished my exam. (was invited by my senior)

Yellow Red & Brown Autumn

This is the very first Autumn in my life. And I've fallen in love with it deeply... ♥

Reason 1:
I wanted it to come so badly after a long disastrous summer. After the 311 earthquake, Japan had been restraining the power usage all over the country due to the failure of nuclear generator. For any household or organization that exceed the electric usage over certain amount will be fined. (from what I heard) Thus we had been studying without any air conditioner (only once a fortnight) for the whole summer. (Imagine the heat when you can't even stand it when you sleep without an air cond in Malaysia)

Reason 2:
The Fall / Winter Collection is superb! I can wear thick fleece or leather jacket without sweating! In fact I'm still freezing in it! And yeay! Got my very first pair of boots too!

Reason 3:
Autumn is such a romantic + beautiful season. With all the leaves turn from green to yellow and to brown, you feel like you are in a Winter Sonata filming site!

Last week, Malaysians from Kantou Region met up just to go and have a look at the brown leaves.
I was like "go see leaves eh? nice?? really ah?"
There are a lot of gardens in Japan that are full with brown leaves now so you can pick whichever you feel like visiting. We went to the Showa Kinen Park at Tokyo Tachikawa.
I was still doubting if it's that interesting to look at leaves until.................... I see the scenery myself. =)

Imac or MacBook Pro?

If you are to get a new Apple gadget from this two.... Which one will you be getting and why?

Both are equally good of course...
However one is portable while the other one is not. I think that is the biggest point to think about.
I feel like getting iMac because the screen is larger so I have bigger view of Gossip Girl or Pretty Little Liars. And it is way cheaper than MacBook Pro.
But I can't let MacBook Pro out of my mind either as it is portable and it looks hotter! (I don't know why I say this but it does look hotter... Doesn't it?)

The main reason I wanna get myself a new laptop/computer is because I've been having trouble seeing Japanese character in some files or sites. They turned out to be those unreadable signs and symbols.
Moreover, the placing of the keyboard symbols are slightly different. Problem hasn't been solve even though I bought a Japanese keyboard extension. I have no idea how to change the setting or what-so-ever. Thus giving me the ~~chance~~ excuse to buy a new screen!

So what do you think?

Cultural Festival 祇園際(Gi-On Sai)

It was the Cultural Festival in Japan last weekend and we had a lot of fun =)
Us, the foreign students in Kisarazu College had a booth selling our country's food! How proud was that right?
We were selling the Curry Puff, Epok (Sarawak Melanau's kuih in case you are wondering what's that), Luo Han Guo drinks and Banshtai Tsai (Mongolian Milk Tea Soup).

I never thought that making Curry Puff and Epok are this troublesome. We had to make the ingredients a night before the Festival and man...... it wasn't easy at all! We had to cut the potatoes and onions into cubes, cooked until it was soft and pungent etc... The process was sooooooooo long! We took 4 hours, 7 people just to make 100 Curry Puffs and 100 Epoks. You don't wanna know how many people had cried because of the onion piles!!! We have to fry and shaped both of them on the next day on the spot in the booth.... What a tiring work! I really have to salute and respect the Mak Cik and Pak Cik selling kuih by the roadside in Malaysia. I never really thought of the hard work for the '3 for RM1 Curry Puffs'. But from now onward, I will say a big TERIMA KASIH to those Pak Cik Mak Cik selling kuih to me! Thank you for all the time and hard work!!!! =D

But it was worth while right? The Curry Puffs and Epoks were delicious and we were so happy when we see some retarded shaped Curry Puff or Epok because that means FREE FOOD!! =D

Yokohama Day Tour --- Oktoberfest 2011

Right after our meal in T.G.I.F form the previous post, we went for a walk around Yokohama City.
We ride on the city bus, the Akai-kutsu (100yen per ride) to tour around and see if we can find anything interesting.
Beyond our expectation, we saw a parade was being held so we decided to join the crowd.
To our surprise, it was Oktoberfest! I wanted to join the one in Malaysia last year but I have no opportunity to do so. But yesterday, we were part of it by chance! In case you have no idea what Oktoberfest is, it is beer festival held annually in Germany. For more info, click here.

There were performers,the Woho & Kalendar Band from German entertaining the crowd by playing music instruments, singing, dancing, performing, etc. Everyone is fiesta-ing with huge mug of beer on their hand!!

We went to get our mug of beer as well after a quick tour indoor.
Out of so many beer brand, we choose this one..
Because 1) there were a long queue 2) there were a crown 3) the stall look nice 4) the name sounds glamor

YW wanted me to take a photo of him with the beer and out of nowhere, this man appeared with empty beer and stood beside him with pose on his other hand. I was shock at first but I still snapped down the moment XD

It was a fun experience. The beer was not bad. Not too bitter but it's not crystal clear golden color. I don't know about beer. But I think that the beer is a bit dilute XD
Anyone out there can tell me if the HB beer is a good beer?
Oh ya, one mug of the beer is 1500yen (~RM60) . Quite expensive if you want to ask my opinion.
But money can't buy experience right? =)

Our 2nd Anniversary 2011 ♥

It was our 2nd Anniversary.

We got to celebrate it twice this year because our actual anni date was fall on weekday but we found no fancy restaurant nearby this town thus having celebrate it again during weekend =)

For this year, we had it in T.G.I Friday.
Many of you must be wondering "WHY T.G.I.F??" as there are so many fancy restaurant outside there. (right?)
I dunno... But I have been craving for T.G.I.F very long time ago and I miss it lots!
F.Y.I, there isn't a lot of T.G.I.F franchise over here in Japan. We have to purposely go all the way to Yokohama just to have a decent lunch. And man....... We have not been regretting for it.

The interior of the restaurant have been decorated with lots of Halloween's stuffs.
Very nice though.
You realize the lady in black who bend down in picture #2?? That is the waitress. F.Y.I 2. Most of the waitress in Japan bend it that way when taking customer's orders. I think this is because they wanna be polite by not standing higher than your sitting position.

As promised, this will be the Universal Studio Japan post.
How many of you love theme park as much as I am?? Raise up your hand!!
I've been obsessed over it since my last visit to Tokyo Disneyland.
And now the Universal Studio! =D
(But I'm quite disappointed that we can't make it to 六福村(LeoFoo) theme park in Taiwan.)
Anyway, be grateful Sharon! *

This trip to USJ was an event for about 2 months ago. I may have forgotten the details. Sorry! Just loads of photos perhaps.

We went to the USJ station by densha (train). Notice the body of the densha is coated with USJ cartoon characters and different attractions offered.

Bought the entrance ticket and fast passes as well.

We did a mistake by buying the fast pass ticket because we went during weekday and there wasn't so many visitors actually. Not forget to mention that the fast passes cost us 3000+ yen. T.T
Thus, ticket+fast pass=8000yen++
Lesson learnt : Think wisely before you buy something.
Unlikely to Disneyland, you cannot buy the fast pass ticket but earn it every hour from the station you wanna enter. As a conclusion, USJ sucked our money. (bo syoik)

Our first stop was the 4D Shrek's adventure. Basically it's an ordinary movie (I've forgotten what was it about) with lots of water splashing from the front seat and from the ceiling.

The next stop was Space Fantasy, which I like A LOT and still remember what was it like.

It's figuratively a journey to the space with two seats rocket. Along the journey you can see different kinds of planets with different colours ,shapes and sizes, stars, not forgetting the meteor and meteorites too. And the way the rocket moves really fascinate me. It can turned 360 degree! Cool right? (By 360 degree, I mean turn around like when you are on a office chair. Not turning upside down XD) It's much much cooler than the ordinary cable car. Oh ya! The best part of the outer space is there is a section where Big Bang occur. The place was so bright and suddenly came a gigantic explosion. =D

The next stop, Terminator 2 3D show.
ok-loh.. Not that bad but quite lame la.. Like a 60 century tv show with a funny+weird suited up in red formal attire host to entertain the visitors along the show.

Next, the Spiderman! I like this one too!
The ride was about that we got caught by Dr Octopus and Spidey's other enemies.
The quest was Spidey have to safe us from them!
We were on a big truck experiencing numerous "falls" but Spidey managed to save us with his web! xD
I was wondering how the truck moved so lively (a bumpy ride) although it's on a track, it was as if the truck was really floating! Can't figure it out but the whole thing was fabulous =)

Next, the Backdraft.
This one is only for viewing.
It showed and tell us how Hollywood make blaze in the movie.

Yup, we got to see the real fire and feel the heat.

Guess what, this ride is very interesting too!

Because it makes you feel as if you are on a normal ride on a boat in a river.....

Seriously we had no idea what the ride was about so that really kept us wondering what will happen next!

We didn't prepared to have a free fall from a place that high and get ourselves wet that much. No wonder people wear poncho as you can see in photo #11.

尤其是容易得来的。

记得几年前，我曾与父母吵过架。
我大声的吼说：＂以后我长大了，工作了，我会搬到远远，不要见到你们！＂

很过分对吧？
青少年嘛，热血沸腾，脾气比较可恶：D

现在想起来都觉得可笑。
为什么没他们在身旁，总是觉得空虚。
那些曾经有的热血与自信，都渐渐地在消失。
我老妈现在还会用这个来开玩笑，说：＂你不是讲要搬远远咩？做么现在一直想家？＂

人好矛盾。在家一直听到家人nagging，就会觉得很烦。
可是相信我，一旦你习惯了，少了它就会觉得怪怪的，觉得世界太安静，没有旋律。

那么多的＂这可不可以，那个不可以！＂现在才知道一切都是为我好。

跟家人争争吵吵大概也是促进感情的方法之一吧。
最重要是吵完后要和好如初。
毕竟是一家人，要好好的一起活下去。

我真的很爱这20年来陪我的家人。
他们给了我好多好多。

家，
是一个在我生命中最重要的东西。
不管你给我多少钱，都买不到家能给我带来的快乐与温馨。

Linkin Park A Thousand Suns Japan Tour 2011

Wee~~ Went to Linkin Park concert last Sunday (911) and I've never regretted it =)

Like I mentioned in last post, the concert was held at Makuhari Messe Hall in Chiba Prefecture Japan.

I'm never a fan of Linkin Park because I wasn't fond to high pitch screaming song that they are so good in.

However the song "Leave out all the rest" caught my attention when I watch Twilight years back. So the only Linkin Park song that I know how to sing properly was ONLY Leave Out All The Rest!

It wasn't my idea to attend this concert. Having not go to a concert before, I nodded when my senior suggested it. Linkin Park is somewhat a famous vocal band right? So why not?

So I started listening to Linkin Park songs and was surprised that most of the songs sounded so familiar to me! Linkin Park has ~~influenced~~ sip into my life without me even knowing it! Famous hits like Numb, Somewhere I Belong... I bet you know that right?? If you have not heard this before, seriously, you are from other planet like Pluto maybe..... =.=

It has been such an ugly experience to a all standing concert despite having to pay ~~8800yen~~ 10000+yen (RM390~). Not to mention that I almost die in that hall due to suffocation and human squeezing (please considered my height ~'_'~)

Linkin Park 's songs are all rapid, active, rock, you name it.

The fans are the same as well...

Everything seemed to be normal before the concert started.

However, once the members were on stage......

OMG

They jumped, screamed, pushed forward, shake, squeezed like maniacs.

I was being pushed and squeezed that I can hardly breathe.

I almost fell down on the ground! I can't imagine what will happen if I touched down on the ground that day. Most probably I will be on the top news in the world saying

"A fan died in Linkin Park concert Japan due to being trample by maniac fans"

You may think that I am exaggerating. But no, the real situation was far worst.

And that was just the beginning of the concert!

So YW pulled me to the back of the hall and enjoyed the rest of the show.

End of horror story.

Hi guys! I'm now blogging outside Makuhari Messe Hall while waiting for the Linkin Park concert to start.
A Thousand Suns. I think that's the theme for this world tour..
Another 30 minutes until we can go in the hall and another 90 minute until the show start.
I think I heard them rehearsing just now. The live band is just awesome beyond words. Hope that I can enjoy the show despite of the stupid PMS crammed. Uurgh!
Although I'm not a Linkin Park fan, but I do enjoy listening to their song.

Will see if I get to take any photo.

Everything is so pink and kitty here!
I think every Hello Kitty fans will be so overwhelmed to see all these!

I have planned to go to this cafe (MUST GO NO MATTER WHAT) since I first planned my Taiwan trip.
I got so SO SOOOO EXCITED when I saw the Hello Kitty Sweets figurehead!

Overall the Hello Kitty theme cafe is a very attractive with the cafe mainly in pink and Hello Kitty stickers and plush toys on chandeliers and walls. Hello Kitty fans will be so happy to be flooded by the Kitty-ness and get Kitty-Fever over here. However, the foods are quite disappointing despite having attractive appearance.
For instance, the salad is tasteless, the soup is tasteless, the hello kitty "mango" jelly is tasteless too!
Frankly, only the salmon sashimi is satisfactory.

If you wanna come here to visit Hello Kitty and feel the Kitty-ness of the cafe, then it's recommended. If you are there to try out the food, then I suggest you to go to the nearby night market to try out Taiwan snacks instead.

This was suppose to be the most exciting part during the Taiwan trip.
But the price and the quality of the food............... (sighing...)

Jay Chou's French-Italian Restaurant

This post is specially dedicated to Jay Chou fans =)

We visited Jay's Restaurant during our trip to Taipei last 2 weeks.
The Restaurant is quite unique because it is situated in the Medical University.
We spent some time walking to the place and it's quite ironic because the local have no idea where is this restaurant. (Hello?? it's Jay Chou's Restaurant leh~ How come you don't know??)

I love the interior of the restaurant because it's very eco friendly with only little lights used. The walls are made of glass to enable maximum light to brighten up the whole space. Jay oh Jay... Y U so smart??

How I wished that Jay would come to check on his restaurant that day!!! =(

Here comes the food part. Seriously I don't expect much from this kind of 主题餐厅 (theme-based cafe). I always feel that this kind of restaurant is only selling the theme, the popularity but not the food.

HOWEVER,

Jay is so nice and considered that he only give the best to his customers and fans!

(Jay fans should be really proud of their idol!!)

The foods are superb and nice!! *Thumbs UP!*

I know that sometimes we will feel that we are being deceived because even if you ordered "Lobster Spaghetti", you don't even see any lobster in it. But in here, seriously the size of the scallop and lobster are so big and some more come in PIECES!!

Day 2 in Taichung

Day 2 in Taichung

We began our journey to Sun Moon Lake (日月潭) at around 10am on the next day.
How lucky we were to have met this uncle.

Yup, the uncle with an arrow pointing towards him.
At first, we planned to go to Sun Moon Lake by bus but this uncle said :"It's better if you all go by taxi, I offer you low prices la hor~ Five people TWD1000. Very cheap oni~~ OK?" Of course he didn't use English to speak to us, he used Chinese+Taiwan Dialect instead. But the way he speaks just like how we speak rojak English XD
After hesitating for a while, we decided to take the cab.
And that was really a smart choice *wink*
Because the ticket price for riding a bus per head is lesser than the divided cab fare for only a few TWD. So why not? Moreover, we got to stop the taxi wherever and whenever we want.
Take this advice!

The uncle's red car

The uncle told us there are FIVE must visit places in Sun Moon Lake. And if we want his service (to fetch us across the mountain and the caves) we have to pay him another TWD1000. We were convinced by him and nodded. $$$

The first stop was Wen Wu Temple. 文武廟。From the kanji itself we can know that people came to this temple to pray for wisdom and martial.
The temple is so huge and delicately crafted.

All the tiny details on the wall or pillars are so fine and exquisite!

Since the Osaka photos are still with YW, I'll blog about the Taiwan trip first instead.

Love the shirt we are wearing?? We looked for it everywhere for at least 10 shops and at last we found one.

I ♥ Kyoto

I thought it's a common souvenir in every tourism spot but I was wrong.

I guess it's a bit outdated and old fashioned?? =D

We were quite disappointed that we couldn't find the one with "I ♥ Osaka" hahaha!!

We took Jetstar (economic flight) for the first time.

It's a small plane that only carry 180 passengers at one shot.

Not a very pleasant flight but is still recommended if you want to save more money for shopping XD

The meal we had in Jetstar.

The Vietnamese Curry and Japanese Curry.

The flight took around 2 hours and 30 mins and we reached Taoyuan airport at 7pm+.

Luckily we took the meal during the flight because the journey from Taoyuan to Taichung by bus is 2 hours+!

It was almost 10pm by the time we reached our destination. =[

We missed the chance to go 逢甲夜市 (Feng Jia Ye Shi) because it was too far from our hotel and worst thing, we found the hotel that we booked but our friends who we agreed to meet in front of the hotel had not even checked in yet!

With no wifi and no international line........

We cannot contact them at all.... *sobs*

YW and I decided to visit the nearest night market 一中街 (Yi Zhong Jie) while waiting for our friends to arrive.

The night market is so liven up by various shops selling various stuffs from foods to apparels and shop keeper who enthusiastically screamed and came out with all sorts ideas to attract customers to visit their stalls.

Taiwan’s night markets play such a vital role their daily life!

Would you like to try it if you read Pig's Blood Cake, Duck's tongue, Chicken Hearts?

Other tasty tidbits on offer include chicken feet, chicken heads, pig’s cartilage.

I tried the Duck's tongue just for the sake of wanting to tell others

"I KNOW WHAT DUCK'S TONGUE TASTE LIKE!" =D

But I failed by spitting it out after chewing several times. haha!

There are so many shops selling apparels for such a reasonable price ranging from TWD200--TWD400.

Prices out of these range would be considered expensive.

Even if it's TWD250, you can still negotiate with the seller to TWD200!

Thus, smile more and negotiate more!XD

We headed back to the hotel but our friends have not reached yet. We were panic as it was almost 12am and we were so tired. Luckily there were wifi at the corner of the hotel and we managed to reach them and found out that they have the hotel changed. =.=

And so we reunite with them and that's the end of day one in Taiwan.

My 20th Birthday 我人生的第一个"2"

I'm officially 20 years and 5 days old now!

Having the age starting with a t...........w...........o......... make me feel so weird and grown up (although mentally I'm not even a 20 yet, but physically, I'm a 30 years old! Cause I pant so heavily after jog~~>.<)

Thanks to all the Kisarazians who celebrated my 20th birthday with me =)

Special thanks to the girls who made so many surprises, laughters and memories too! =D

Although it was very VERY hot in my room (summer + one fan +7 people in a 3x3m room), we enjoyed a lot and made a lot of noises until someone knocked and asked us to lowered our voices XD

In the evening, I had another birthday cake. I managed to take this photo only because the rest was taken by YW and the photos are still in his camera~~

I love the combination of turquoise with white ribbon so much. =)
I received the present early in the morning on my birthday but I opened it only when my birthday was almost over.
Too busy rushing for reports and replying FB wishes =D
But the main reason is because I wanna opened the present slowly and read the notes he wrote for me in the peaceful night =D ♥

Summer.Beach.Sunkiss skin

The title of this blog is sililar to the title of my photo album in Facebook XD

My friends and I went to the seaside in Moriya (守谷) by train yesterday. The journey took around 2 hours (what a long journey right? some more the speed of the train is fast! not like those KTM in Malaysia!) and cost us RM65/one way. I don't know why did one of us came out with this idea to go hang around by the sea. I mean it's SUMMER right??! The intensity of the sun is damn high-leh!! I scare to get heatstroke!

But the trip was a pleasant one XD We managed to rent a beach umbrella, or else we would have been roasted humans by now.

Here comes the sea!!! I like the place so much.. It's so clean, peace and calm here.
The sea is so blue and you can actually see your feet through the water! Zero pollution!
But according to the boys who went to swim in the sea, the sea water is terribly salty.

Homestay in Japan

I've attended a Homestay Program in Kisarazu Town, Japan on the last weekends. This was my first attempt on joining the Homestay Program and to be honest, I was quite worried and nervous. I had no idea on which family I was appointed to until that exact morning when they came and took me "home". By the way, my "family name" is Hirakawa (平川). The Hirakawa is a middle class family with 5 family members (father, mother, 2 sisters and brother).

Here are some photos to share.

Day 1

Self introduction+Knowing the family

The lady in pink is my Okaasan while the girl is the younger sister and the young boy is the youngest in the family.

They have lots of cups with different designs *cuteness*

First lunch. I totally forgotten what is the name of the meal..

Here is the close up.

You have to mix the raw ingredients on photo #3 into the shiru(soup), then only you put in the noodles(forgotten the actual name) in it. It was somehow appetizing.

In the late evening, Otousan brought sis, bro and I to the garden to see and cuddle some cute dogs.

At first I was curious why they wanted me to see the dogs so much. Upon reaching there, there were a swarm dogs ran toward us! XD There were like more than 10 dogs over there playing with each other!! Cuteness!!!

There are more dogs actually but it's really hard to take a good picture of them because they kept chasing each other and ran around.

At night before our dinner, we played the Jin Sei Game (人生ゲーム). It's actually Monopoly. But it's the Japan version. The swt-test thing is that they have no idea what is Monopoly XD

They use this rotate thingy instead of a dice.

At 5.30pm, Okaasan gave me a ride back to hostel.

It's so sad to say goodbye.

Although it's short, with only 2 days and 1 night, but they already treated me as part of their family especially the younger sis. She even cried leh... Made me feel so dismay.

It's a really great experience.

I'm so glad that I've met with such a good family.

It totally changed my perspective towards the Japanese. I always thought that Japanese are cold-blooded animal that don't care less bout outsider. (Just like the pupils in my college. So damn self-centered.)

They made me feel real warm and it's great to know how Japanese live too!

P/s: Japanese houses really have NO ceiling fan!!! *hot*

Nervous leh..... 怎么办?

Tomorrow is the day.........

I'm going to attend my very first Homestay with some total strangers (family).
It will be only 2 days and 1 night.
Please ask me if I do feel nervous right now?

the answer is : YES!!!! (idk why I put it in such a small font. Maybe because I feel that it is unnecessary to feel nervous?? =/)

Hope that the host family stays in a mansion, treat me well and sayang me and take me to DisneySea, and buy me Tiffany charm and........ and................... (*dreaming*) XD
Ok la... That's all.. Off to bed now.. Good night!

I will blog about it once I get back safely+unharm from their house. haha! XD jk jk

　　小S走到哪儿都会把老公挂在嘴边，类似“我看他永远看不够”、“是他让我对爱情和婚姻有了信心”之类的老公宣传语从来都是喷薄而出。难道你们就不会吵架吗?小S很认真的回答：“我们从来没吵过架、斗过嘴。更不会说‘离婚’这两个字，有时感觉快吵架时，我会赶快停下来，不讲话了。”有话直说、有理不让的小S在婚姻面前，竟然非常懂得退让。在节目里咄咄逼人的小S，在生活中其实是很能“吃亏”的。从小憨憨傻傻的她就被精明强势的姐姐大S哄来哄去。“我小时候很喜欢大S的一双拖鞋，可她连借给我穿一次都不肯，直到有一天她说送给我，我喜出望外地跑过去一穿，发现里面有狗狗的大便!最后妈妈洗干净后，大S还是拿走自己穿了。”小S一脸无辜，却也一脸不在乎。在出阁前，一直是她负责给家里的狗狗洗澡扫大便，而大S只是负责买狗粮，肯这样吃亏的妹妹，还真不多见。“我喜欢温暖的感觉，比如天然材质的木地板，色调天然和谐的家具，感觉黄黄的暖暖的光线。”尽管喜欢民族风，却听从老公的意见，把家装修成简约时尚的风格：“有这么厉害的一个老公在，我不需要给意见了。在这一点，我是好老婆的表现之一哦。” 婚后小S也把吃亏精神带进了夫家。看起来忍让得有点傻傻的小S却得到更多：姐姐大S无处不在的关爱，公婆一家的交口赞誉和呵护，以及铁杆朋友姐妹的无数关心。难怪大S都颇含醋意地说，“别人刚认识我们姐妹的时候都喜欢我，但是慢慢接触下去，就都开始喜欢小S，她比我受欢迎。”

“我喜歡小孩多一點的感覺。現在每天我一回到家，喊一聲'Hello!'，我的許俏妞就飛奔出來抱著我，我的老二也搖搖晃晃地出來迎接我，我很享受這種被孩子環抱的感覺，所以我計劃有第三胎，不過什麼時候實現?就順其自然吧!” 女人的多面往往讓人始料不及，誰能想到婚前在外面吃喝玩樂的小S婚後會變成最慈愛的媽媽呢?在生第二個女兒的時候，小S的奶水不足，為了讓女兒能喝足母乳，小S還是拼命擠，直至擠到瘀青，徐媽媽都心疼地感嘆說：“小S真的很辛苦，母愛就是這麼偉大。” 大女兒許俏妞出生後，給孩子洗澡，成了小S最怕的一件事。 “小嬰兒會動來動去，一手怎麼可能抓得住?萬一掉進水里怎麼辦?俏妞感覺到我的恐懼，於是她也開始害怕，兩隻手一直往天空抓，發出一種人要摔倒前的叫聲，結果我趕快把她交給護士。心裡真的很內疚!”之後小S就苦練帶孩子的功夫，以至於小S的朋友們去看望她，吃驚地發現她給孩子洗澡換尿布餵奶一氣呵成熟練之極，一點不像初為人母，不知道的還以為她生過幾個呢。對孩子的期望，小S說：“許家都是高知識分子，我希望孩子能夠遺傳到許家的智慧和爽朗，還有我很喜歡小動物，女兒也非常有同情心，如果她們其中一個能成為獸醫，我會蠻開心的，但是還是要看她們的興趣決定。” 在教育孩子方面，小S和老公堅信，說比打有用。 “小孩又不是聽不懂人話，幹嘛要打?所以我絕對不打小孩，以免長大後有陰影。” 不管小S怎麼大大咧咧，一談到孩子，都會露出很認真的表情：“孩子的事，是萬萬不能馬虎的。”

第5課：家庭再美滿也不能做黃臉婆

如果你是小S，有了以上這些女人夢寐以求的成就，是不是很自然地覺得可以放鬆些，慢慢享受這一切呢?可小S仍然會挺著大肚子出來工作。儘管依然是樂呵呵的樣子，難道真的不會辛苦嗎? “不出去工作，在家久了會變黃臉婆。”小S說，“我上班不是為了賺錢，而是享受工作，現在深刻體會到，自己擁有這份工作，多麼幸運，能在工作中找到樂趣，更是難得。” 為了讓自己的身材恢復到最佳，原本貪吃的她嚴格執行減肥菜單，連老公許雅鈞都感到吃驚。 “我的瘦身秘訣就是在停止餵母乳之後，開始每餐維持在六分飽的狀態，特別是晚餐在六點半之前結束，之後就不再吃東西，真正肚子餓的時候，我會吃點海苔來滿足口慾解解饞;這樣持續一個月之後，就會見效。”擁有傲人的身材除了因為工作需要外，小S也很希望別人看到她帶孩子逛街時會吃驚地說，這個年輕的女孩會是小孩的媽媽?

Lala Day

Thanks to the hostel organizer who planned this "Lala Catching" activity during early summer =)

[BTW, does anyone know what is "Lala" in English?]

Although I've done this by the seaside in Malaysia before, and is not unfamiliar to lala catching, I have to admit that I was somehow shock to see so many people doing it at the same time! It is as if a MUST-DO tradition every summer for the Kisarazians.

This site is actually part of the sea and is usually filled with water.There are boats or even ships passing through but during summer, it is at its lowest tide until we can step on the sea bed! =D How awesome is that right?

I didn't took a lot of photos in this trip because I couldn't bring my camera along while I was digging on the site. :[ What a waste. But I managed to took some before and after collecting =)

Actually we were pouring out the lala-s from the net in this photo and choose only the big ones because one customer is only allow to bring back 1kg+ or 2kg of lala. Not to mention that we have to pay for the entrance fee to enter the site.(so that means the lala are not free la~~) But of course, the hostel department paid for us =)
