Day 2 in Taichung

Day 2 in Taichung

We began our journey to Sun Moon Lake (日月潭) at around 10am on the next day.
How lucky we were to have met this uncle.

Yup, the uncle with an arrow pointing towards him.
At first, we planned to go to Sun Moon Lake by bus but this uncle said :"It's better if you all go by taxi, I offer you low prices la hor~ Five people TWD1000. Very cheap oni~~ OK?" Of course he didn't use English to speak to us, he used Chinese+Taiwan Dialect instead. But the way he speaks just like how we speak rojak English XD
After hesitating for a while, we decided to take the cab.
And that was really a smart choice *wink*
Because the ticket price for riding a bus per head is lesser than the divided cab fare for only a few TWD. So why not? Moreover, we got to stop the taxi wherever and whenever we want.
Take this advice!

The uncle's red car

The uncle told us there are FIVE must visit places in Sun Moon Lake. And if we want his service (to fetch us across the mountain and the caves) we have to pay him another TWD1000. We were convinced by him and nodded. $$$

The first stop was Wen Wu Temple. 文武廟 。From the kanji itself we can know that people came to this temple to pray for wisdom and martial.
The temple is so huge and delicately crafted.

Not forgetting the very nice, memorable and unforgettable taste of the herbal egg (茶叶蛋) sell by an old lady in front of the temple.
I remember we had our second round after finishing our first egg! XD

They boycott me because I'm not a Nike girl =[
This stall very teruk lo!! The aunty (arrow pointing) insisted that this snack is very popular and tasty-la, ask us must buy-la, must eat-la if you come to Sun Moon Lake, what very crunchy-la, can even swallow the bones-la... blah blah blah... So I bought it with RM20+ for one pack of this.....
Mana tahu........... >.<
We tried one and threw the rest of it.
Wasted my RM20 :'(

Next, the cultural dance.
Oh ya, the aunty who sold the snack to me were actually performing... =.=lll
Not a very attractive performance though..

The fourth stop, another temple. A Buddist temple if I'm not mistaken.
Because it's peaceful and no incense burning.

I love the white stones so much! Make the place look so clean and contrast.

#35
so nice right? the sun rays passing through the clouds

Lastly, the Pagoda.
We had to climb up the 570m stairs before reaching the pagoda.
It was so tiring but yet memorable XD
Something to show off : We used less than 1 hour to complete the challenge. =D

#36

#37

See the stairs?? You have to climb 7 storeys to reach the apex of the pagoda.

#38

From the pagoda, you can see the Sun and Moon Lake clearly. You will feel that your effort has been paid off after you see the scenery and breathe in the fresh and lovely air . (no other suitable adjective for this XD)

#39

Last but not the least, the photo of the pretty girls before ending this post. hehe~~
