Tsukiji the Seafood Market

Finally I'm in Tokyo again after almost 2 months!
Nope, I didn't go to Harajuku nor Shibuya this time! Went to a place I never thought I would actually wanna go. Thanks to Baby Love XD

This place is called Tsukiji (築地). A famous attraction in Japan and is one of the biggest wholesale and seafood market in the world!  Met a lot of China, Hong Kong and Ang Mohs tourist there.

We reached there at around 11am+ so we didn't get to see the fish auction activities.
Both the wholesaling and reselling areas are busy places starting as early as 4am!
But to prevent any impediment to trading activities and to ensure food safety, these areas are closed to visitors.
Only the market is open publicly selling all sorts of fresh seafood and street foods!

#2
Fresh Salmon for sell

#3
At 11am, all the stalls had already starting to clean up and the left over salmons were reduce to sale.

#4
The Sashimi stall that we visited.

If you are visiting Tsukiji, do not forget to try out their Sashimi! The fishes are as fresh as the dew even a non Sashimi lover like me was impressed!

#5
Dining table opposite the stall. Stand, share and eat.

#6
Various menu offered from Sashimi to fish roe.

#7

Tuna cheek
まぐろほほステーキ (maguro hoho)  ¥1000
Ordered by the mister. This dish is fully cooked with I-don't-know-what-sauce. But the fish doesn't taste like fish at all! The texture and the appearance is somehow similar to chicken+beef. Very soft and easily chewed.
Inside the bowl is rice covered with cabbage and lastly the maguro. The combination is superb!

市場どんぶり(Shijyou Donburi)  ¥1000
Ordered by yours truly.
Actually I was still doubting whether I would eat this bowl of thing when I first ordered it.
I am never a fan of raw food. Especially comes to meat.
Looking at those red meat give me nausea and lost appetite.
However, I have no idea where my courage came from at that moment that made me to decide on having this!
I was facinated by the colors of the Sashimi when the bowl arrived.
Even the visitors passing behind me was in awe and wtf took photo without my permission! XD
So here is it. My first bite was the maguro (tuna). I expected something hard weird texture but I was totally wrong! I gave a bite and the Sashimi was torn in two.
I even chewed the one in my mouth before swallowed it! (I usually swallow without chewing when I'm having Sashimi)
No fishy smell, no weird taste, no slimy texture, not even a second of queasiness.
Same with other Sashimi as well!
(white flesh-Toro, Orange-Salmon, Red-Maguro, Fish Roe, Crab Roe, Grilled egg, half-boiled prawn)

This Sushizanmai is totally different and unrelated with the one from Malaysia. There are like 4-5 branches in this not more than 2km area.
Highlight : All of these branches are full but people are still willing to queue!
