Imac or MacBook Pro?

If you are to get a new Apple gadget from this two.... Which one will you be getting and why?

Both are equally good of course...
However one is portable while the other one is not. I think that is the biggest point to think about.
I feel like getting iMac because the screen is larger so I have bigger view of Gossip Girl or Pretty Little Liars. And it is way cheaper than MacBook Pro.
But I can't let MacBook Pro out of my mind either as it is portable and it looks hotter! (I don't know why I say this but it does look hotter... Doesn't it?)

The main reason I wanna get myself a new laptop/computer is because I've been having trouble seeing Japanese character in some files or sites. They turned out to be those unreadable signs and symbols.
Moreover, the placing of the keyboard symbols are slightly different. Problem hasn't been solve even though I bought a Japanese keyboard extension. I have no idea how to change the setting or what-so-ever. Thus giving me the chance excuse to buy a new screen!

So what do you think?

  1. I think you should definitely go for the Macbook Pro. If you get it on the Apple education store, it's a lot cheaper. I paid about 3000++ for my Pro that I got this summer. I'd say don't wait on the Air. I had the Macbook Air before this laptop and it's a fuss cause there is no DVD drive and I had to get the Mac external superdrive and it's expensive and really troublesome to carry around. So I support Macbook Pro. And it's pretty fast considering the cheapest Macbook Pro runs on dual core. You can splurge a little get the quad core but it's not needed since you're just using it for maybe internet, assignments and stuff. And guess what, to what I know till today, all the years I have used Macs, I've never gotten virus. So it's great. MACBOOK PRO!!!

  2. if it's possible, try to hold it and get a MacBook Pro back in M'sia coz with education discount it'll be much cheaper compared to Japan.
iMac is good too but considering you gonna move around Japan so it might be problematic of it's size.
