Palais Garnier--Paris Opera

Sorry for the slight delay in posting. I had been busy with family + bf  + friends outings. Had been a fruitful one if any of you are curious bout it =)

So now back to day 2 in Paris.
We visited the Paris Opera House Palais Garnier. It was named after its architect Charles Garnierafter went through several name changes since its opening.
To get here, hop down to Metro Station Opera.

I don't know a lot about the history of Opera. But if you are interested then click here.
It is claimed that the falling of one of the grand chandelier in this Opera House resulted in the death of one member of the audience which has indirectly inspired the famous scene in The Phantom of the Opera. But it has not stated whether the movie was filmed here. I guess everyone must be familiar with the novel right? The novel was made to movie 5 years back. Go watch it if you have missed it!

And behold.......

Is this sight familiar to you? I think all of you had once catch a glimpse of this! It's a very famous landmark for Paris.

The Library
#10
This is the place where all the manuscripts and lines are kept. For the sake of conserving all these century treasures, the cupboards are all being locked.

Seriously I have to add "grand" infront of every part of Opera mentioned in this blog because everything has been SO IMMENSELY GRAND, IMPERIAL and BEAUTIFUL BEYOND WORDS.
Every little detail in the Opera house has been paid full attention. Not even a part of it is rashed.
I was in awe admiring all these and even imagine myself as one of the noble waiting for my show to start! =D

As for our lunch, we had a very decent one near the Opera House, or to be exact, at the alley beside La Fayette. Le Royal. A must try if you are around that area. The food are seriously good and would make you scream! (empty your stomach before going there)

Pasta with Salmon and dill
 #18
The Salmon served are so tender and fresh! Together with my favourite pasta, Tagliatelle.
The combination of the sauce, pasta and salmon can give you total food orgasm and make you feel cloud nine! =)

American Sandwich
 #19
Within the sandwich are ham, tomato and ham. And of course, covered by crusty melted cheese with an egg to enhance the taste bud.

You have too taste it to know the real taste...! To look from the pictures is not enough!

Hope you enjoy the post! Until next time! =D
