Angelina Paris Tearoom

Here's a post specially for the sweet tooth.
DO anyone of you love having tea in a luxurious tearoom?
I do.
But my pocket always refuse to fulfil my desire. (laugh)

Anyhow, since we were already in Paris, so we decided to give Angelina a try.
It was one of the most famous/popular tearoom and has the most lip-smacking scrumptious desserts.
Angelina even claimed that famous designers like Coco Chanel was one of  their VIP guest!

Much more than a simple patisserie or tearoom, Angelina is a luxury brand with a prestigious image that symbolises the “French Way of Life”. the Angelina tearoom has established itself as a high point of Parisian gourmet pleasures, Angelina became a must-not-miss venue for the Parisian aristocracy. The decor designed by the famous Belle Epoque architect, Edouard-Jean Niermans, combines elegance, charm and refinement. Angelina is a genuine romantic poem, a quiet and voluptuous venue, between serenity and gourmet pleasure.

It was a long queue for us before being laid to the table. Guess everyone was eager to get a cup of hot chocolate in the chilly weather.

Upon entering the tearoom, I was fascinated by the interior of Angelina and the atmosphere was great.
Absolutely appropriate for a decent afternoon tea.

Angelina is famous for their Hot Chocolate and Mont Blanc.
We ordered both of them, some macarons , a glass of Rose Wain and a piece of Millefeuille.

I am a chocolate lover, however, Angelina's chocolate is not my cup of tea chocolate. I think that it's way too thick and creamy. A slight of bitterness and a touch of sweetness too. It is as if drinking a melted chocolate bar.

This is their signature Mont Blanc. I personally like it very much. The layers of Mont Blanc taste so clear in mouth. Beneath first layer was a soft cake with spongy texture while the core was some crumbs. It is a very unique combination.

The Millefeuille. We had hard times trying to eat this because it was so hard to eat it without "ruining" the whole piece. Personally, I sort of like this one. But the crumb layer tastes bitter. Is it suppose to be like that?

Get one I mean? 3 tier become 1 instead.

The macarons. I'm totally disappointed with them. The color and flavor combination does not complement at all. I actually have to force myself to finish the macarons because seriously, this is not recommended at all. If you love macarons, try opt for Ladue or Pierre Hermé instead. They taste far way better than these.

I do not know a lot about wine, but this one made the Mister tipsy after a few sips.

Us
Our afternoon tea cost around 36 Euro. Which was vastly overpriced but overall it was still a priceless experience.
Hope you enjoy the post!
