Gardens by the Bae

Visiting Gardens by the Bay has been one of my to-do-list since forever.
I have forgotten when was the last time I step my foot on Singapore. As far as I remember, the durian (Esplanade) was the most iconic building back then.
This trip to Singapore wasn't exactly planned. It just turned out to be our transit, which happened to be 14 hours long! Oh well, the perk of choosing the lowest price flight ticket (^_^; ))

I know that by now almost everyone knows about Gardens by the Bay and most of you have even been there before. But just let me do this once in my blog ok? haha.
Do you know that these "avatar trees" (as claimed by one of my friend) are actually called Supertree Grove? Although the official name is less catchy, it still didn't change the fact that these trees are awesome. It was an overwhelming moment for me to actually see the them with my naked eyes! The "trees" are definitely prettier in real life, but seems surreal to be standing in the midst of something so modern and futuristic. It was almost like I am in the movie Avatar!

The engineer behind these are mind blowing. Little did I know that these "trees" are more than just decorations. They perform multitude of functions such as planting, shading and working as environmental engines for the gardens!

They are fitted with environmental technologies that mimic the ecological function of trees – photovoltaic cells that harness solar energy which can be used for some of the functions of the Supertrees, such as lighting, just like how trees photosynthesize; and collection of rainwater for use in irrigation and fountain displays, exactly like how trees absorb rainwater for growth. The Supertrees also serve air intake and exhaust functions as part of the conservatories' cooling systems.

Try to imagine if Malaysia's government use their money to build something like this, wouldn't it be intriguing? Malaysian will have more things to be proud of while enhancing the tourism sector of our country. Keep telling the foreigners about our once-so-proud (still-am-proud) KLCC will hardly bring them back for the second time. History is history. Malaysia need to improve and need something new this era don't you think so?

Overlooking Gardens by the Bay

Although the weather seems perfect from the photos, it wasn't exactly the truth in reality. Yes, there were no rain, but there were no clouds either. Which means it was so hot and very terribly windy. My hair was in disaster and I cannot do anything about it but to flipped it left and right alternately after my dry shampoo being confiscated during the Changi airport security check. My La Roche Posay thermal spray was also being dumped right in front of my eyes. I had no trouble hand-carrying them through Malaysia or Japan's airport but these officers from Singapore are just absurd.  ಠ_ಠ

Anyways, let's continue.

Group shot with Gardens by the Bay as background. Checked.

There are two person in this photo which I have not meet for almost 5 years! They were so kind for touring us around, providing us with abundance of informations about each and every corner of Singapore! Thank you so much!:D
Time flies, people grow. But friendship does not change easily. Everything is like high school again when we sit in circle and talked, except the fact that everyone is with an occupation now, but me. haha!

Next post is going to be about MBS and some selfies so stay tuned!

Hope you enjoy the post!
