Sumidagawa Fireworks Festival 2013 (隅田川花火大会)

There was a grand Fireworks Festival at Sumidagawa in Asakusa Tokyo  two days ago and I took this opportunity to dress in yukata. I was quite proud with myself for being able to wear everything all by myself! XD

It was very crowded in around the city especially the train station.
We were pretty lucky for being able to get in the train........

Upon reaching Asakusa(浅草) , at some junction near Kaminarimon (雷門) gush of people were seen either in yukata or casual attire. Weather were perfectly clear with 31ºC still air. The crowds care less about the heat and were seen busy looking for their dates and rushing to find a perfect spot for fireworks.

The crowds were crazy... This is just like "a day in Disneyland" deja vu. However we were lucky to find a spot somewhere in the RIGHT group. And so we start to selca like nobody's business. haha! My hair was quite messy as I forgotten to apply wax on it.

Less than 30 minutes of taking our light snack on the spot while waiting for the fireworks to start, something happened......

The peak of Sky Tree were looked blur and started to fade from sight. Everyone thought that it was just a light rain and took out their umbrellas. However, the rain started to shower along with strong wind! The umbrella almost flew and the crowds began to flee. 

Everything happened so fast and in the next minute, we were joining the crowds to cross back to 

the other end of the bridge in order to escape. The rain were in such a high speed and gigantic droplets! I can hardly open my eyes! The worst part is we bring no umbrella at all! XD

Below were the only "proper" photo of fireworks we saw while crossing the bridge that I took with my camera before the show were being called OFF due to heavy rain. 

Seriously that night were a chaos and it is somehow 10% of apocalypse to me...

So we went to the nearest Uniqlo to buy ourselves new apparels and end up in TGI Fridays for late dinner.
