Tokyo Base Ramen by Ippudo @ Shibuya

Spent half of our day at Shibuya yesterday and we got to try out the newly discovered Ramen shop just below the JR track!
Tokyo 豚骨 Base made by Ippudo.
The Kanji in between is pronounced as "tonkotsu" meaning the soup is stewed from pork rib.
The Ramen restaurant is opened around March this year and still considered "new" to people who didn't pass by that area often.
From its name, it's a big possibility that this is another chain from the infamous Ippudo Ramen.

To be honest, the soup is REEEEEEAAAAALLY GOOOOOOOOD!!!!
I haven't tried any other Ramen that is this good for a long time!
The noodle are similar to Ichiran's but the soup and texture are way better than that.
At least there isn't any garlic or weird taste linger in my tongue after having this.
The combination of everything inside this bowl is ideal and almost halfway to heaven =)
It does taste a little bit oily but still acceptable for me.

This may look a bit out of what a food should look like, but trust me, it taste equally as good as mine!
The soup base is the same, just that black sesame oil was added to give a different flavour.
Never judge the book by its cover I say!

I love how the ramen eggs are made in Japan.
Basically the egg white part is harden but the yolk is still half cooked.
There is NONE, I repeat, NONE of the ramen restaurant in Malaysia make this kind of egg.
Instead, they serve the hard boiled egg =.=
So unmatched!



My boyfriend loves Ramen a lot. That is why I always got to try at different places.
As far as we concern, Ramen that are favorited by Japanese didn't exactly fit our taste bud.
Their definition of ooishi is plain, light soup base, and thick noodle.
However, we like the soup thick and rich but small size noodle!
It's still back to individual preference at the end.  
So I'll blog more about Ramen so that you guys are able to know the must-try ramens when you are in Japan right?

  1. I justt came back from japan, had ichiran but didnt manage to try this or ippudo! Oh I totally agree w u, n KL - no ramen comes close. So sad.

    But the egg at Santouka is almost there...
