Legato Fine Dining

Two weeks ago, YW and I had dinner at Legato to celebrate our relationship milestone.
The place turned out to be better than what we expected, with friendly waitress, quiet and private setting away from the hustle and bustle of the city, located 15 storey high from the ground at the heart of Shibuya.

The place is lighted up with dim light and some Halloween decorations (because it is October!). A grand piano is placed at the center of dining place which make the place look extra sophisticated. Too bad there wasn't any pianist to play some live music that day.

Our appetizer was the very cute Lolliop Foie Gras. Can you spot it?

Here is the larger image incase you can't spot them. haha.

They might look tiny, but trust me, the taste that filled my mouth the moment I started to chew it was beyond words. The Almond Plaque was plastered to the Foie Gras by Cabernet Sauvignon Jam (a type of wine jam) and Pop Rocks Candy. Everything fuse together so well with hint of pops exploding in our mouth! I have yet tried Foie Gras presented in this way and I must say that I am impressed!

Our second appetizer was Smoked Salmon with Cheese Cracker

This is another nice combination too! Our waitress told us we can eat the smoked salmon as cheese cracker's topping or we can mix them with the yogurt espuma, and eat like salad. We tried both and they taste equally awesome :)

For pasta, I opted for Porcini Mushroom and Crustacés Cream Fettuccine

Both of us love it very much and we finished the cream until the last drop!

This was our first entrée was the Peanut Butter Roast Fish

I have no clue how peanut butter can compliment the fish so well and this dish blew our mind off completely. No doubt.

Last but not least, our last entree -- The Medium Cooked Lamb.

I never like my steak to be undercooked than medium rare. But the chef cook my steak just right pairing it with garlic sauce. Yumm yumm!

Us

Our waitress talked a lot to us when she was serving our food or drinks. She asked what was our relationship and what were we celebrating that day, so we told her it was actually our 5th year anniversary. Her face was so shocked in disbelief and I still remember how big she opened her eyes. Perhaps it is unusual for Japanese to be in a relationship that long but still not get married? haha.
And guess what, at the end of the meal, we received a complimentary dessert with lovely message from the Chef!

As we left the restaurant, the staffs congratulate us with a smile and friendly gestures. It felt so warm and nice to dine in a place with such a nice service and atmosphere.

Here's a bonus pic for all of you :)

Hope you enjoy the post and have a nice weekend!
